On 6 December 2024, Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) met with Vice Governor Yun Linne of Siem Reap Province of Cambodia.
Shi Zhongjun underlined that the ACC has long been committed to promoting practical cooperation between ASEAN Member States (AMS) and China in six areas, namely trade, investment, education, culture, tourism and media. In light of the resource advantages and practical needs of Siem Reap Province, the ACC stands ready to explore ways to better serve as a bridging and facilitating platform for exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese provinces and Siem Reap Province in such fields as promotion of tourism destinations, capacity building for tourism practitioners, and agricultural modernization toward mutual benefits and win-win results.
Yun Linne expressed appreciation to the ACC for creating valuable opportunities for Siem Reap Province to promote its economic development and social progress through international cooperation. Siem Reap looks forward to establishing closer communication with the ACC, further drawing on the ACC platform to enhance cooperation with the Chinese provinces, which will surely benefit Siem Reap in terms of developing eco-tourism, green agriculture and vocational education, thus bringing forth greater welfare for the Siem Reap people.
