ACC Secretary-General Chen Dehai Attended the Opening Ceremony of 2021 CAECW

On 24 September 2021, the 2021 ASEAN-China Education Cooperation Week (2021 CAECW), co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, the Ministry of Education of China and Guizhou Provincial Government, was opened in Guiyang. Mdm. Shen Yiqin, Secretary of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial People’s Congress, attended and announced the opening of 2021 CAECW. Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC), attended the opening ceremony. 

With the theme of “United Knowledge and Action to Jointly Build an Educational Prospect of Sustainable Development Cooperation”, 2021 CAECW was held both online and offline. Mr. Lan Shaomin, Deputy Secretary of Guizhou Provincial CPC, Mr. Lu Xin, President of the Chinese Society of Vocational and Technical Education and former Vice Minister of MoE of China, Dr. Liu Limin, President of the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and former Vice Minister of MoE, and Mr. Myo Thant Pe, Ambassador of Myanmmar to China, attended and addressed the ceremony. Mr. Huai Jinpeng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of MoE of China, Dr. Sonexay Siphandone, Vice Prime Minister of Lao PDR, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of the Ministry of Education of 2021 ASEAN Rotating Chair Brunei Darussalam, Mr. Lim Jock Hoi, Secretary-General of ASEAN, and the ministers of Ministry of Education of Cambodia, Indonesia, the Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam delivered video speeches. Mr. Guo Xiwen, Vice Governor of Guizhou Provincial People’s Government, chaired the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Hu Zhongxiong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, Secretary of the CPC Guiyang Municipal Committee and Party Committe of Gui’an New Area, Mdm. Liu Jin, Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of MoE of China, and Mr. Wang Fukang, former Chinese Ambassador to Maldives attended the unveiling ceremony of the projects as the achievements of 2021 CAECW.
